I see with disgust that I belong to this; bowing to evil deities like the worship of money. I'm trying again halfway through the glass shards. It’s broken, but it’s still some kind of window. With a horizon waiting beyond, you'd rather abandon the right to speak? Don’t delay. Just defy it all! and leave this ”hold barrier to emotion”-shit. The answer is: replace it with nothing. With nothing! Indeterminately sentenced, the dormant also maintains. You could blame the outsiders but I’ll always be among them. So we came to knives with all that's tying us down, within the guts of Mammon. To learn how we first must try. Time is not refundable. Death is the end. Teach me how to swim even if I'm sinking, grasping. Come on to knives with all that restrains us.

This Ember 02:15
A first breath inhaled followed by curious eyes openwide, pupils dilated under artificial lights. I barely had time to meet your gaze; our sighs of relief were cruelly cut short by cries of anguish and pain, and in the turmoil she got pulled away, as you and me were left behind with barely a light. This scene is suspended in time, you serenely asleep while my world spiralled ever downwards. I lost count of how many nights I've kept returning to that haunted room. My disassociation became fulfilled as minutes bled into hours – into an eternal horror of what might’ve... I pray that you will never learn just how dark those december nights were. Within walls so austere and cold, cursing my own vanity (over and over again) for choosing to put you on this wretched earth. Time offered clarity. Opened wounds slowly sealed with milk and honey, and seeing you bask in the warmth of the world as you grow... For now, I'll just dream of being enough. For now it'll be enough.

Fractions of 'self' wrapped in cloth and remains - to keep a notion of shape. We pass by in searching, confused of what for, where others lay trapped in their rest. I'll be guided, I'll be guided, through thorne and bone and suffering, I'll be guided. Fear could make myself a path. I'll be guided. Is there salvation for a God on the run? It's tempting to burn the world in my honor, or to burn myself in the image of its ashen lands. ”Too much to know... Too much to carry alone...” To flee the weight, the burden - I split in many. I’d like to rip the world apart in my shadow. There is loneliness in eternity but in drag we can embrace. Fractions of 'self' wrapped in cloth and remains to keep a notion of shape. They pass by in searching, forgotten of what for, where we lay safe in our rest. With the breath of the sea and the rythm of wind and wave through all of my bodies - piled and reborn, wasted but loved. Flowers and rot and flowers. A world of recycled ghost. Ill be guided, Ill be guided, Through thorne and bone and suffering, Ill be guided. With the perception that death might be completely safe; Either way if time exists it'll take me away. ”What was it that I came here to learn?” The beginnig is calling us again as we fall back and forth and-

They tore away my arm where I held you, taking everything in their reach. I tried to free you with my scream. I'd been silently strangled until the day I got sense of it all. So then finally, here I was born. Houses that kept us warm were demolished to the ground. A taste of something I have missed, came even without memories. Looking for our home, we’re not leaving. Those traitors of the land, preparing to fight and looking to defeat. Little did they know -we’re part of the soil now. Streaming inside, through rooted veins deep in the ground, the beauty of something for which to live and die. We’re part of this soil now. The bond of blood, trash and dirt - a promising future. In our bond of mud, tears and joy - we're loyal to every pebble. They wont rip away my arms where I hold you. They're aiming for everything within their reach, but here we are still free. Again, a taste of something I have missed, stolen in history. We created a home (while they're ruining what's left of this world) built from scraps, where everyone will fit and defend.

Once I could still sing for you, but that was a long time ago. I’ve bitten my lip, I’ve been drudged apart. Every time you closed your gaze it carved me deeper. For all of these years; growing tired, the crying and grinding pieces to fit. Please stop to search behind this neck to (find things to) fit into your realm. I tried everything - I think... I'm grinding the pieces to fit. I'm grinding my pieces to fit. I feel the abyss. Please could you stop digging this ditch of “whose fault is it”? I know I might've kept you there, failing to read between the lines. But promises will finally brake- like chains. Until I have a new tongue for you to hear loudly. Millions and millions of pieces later, when time has rinsed me long enough from your filthy mouth of ruins... Once I could still sing for you, but that was a long time ago.

Run away! Drift and drowse, asleep. Re-appear! The pattern of you changes slightly. Come back here! Ongoing, following and waiting forever. One – together. Moments flowing by. The void bids it's time.

Kafala 02:33
Callously we turn our backs at the sight of misery, as an inconvenient shattering of our own reality. Currency dictates your spineless moral. Your Identity – has been taken away. Protection - has been taken away. We deeply regret your discomfort or personal tragedies. No compensation is available for the grieving families Surrounding their deaths, there is a lack of clarity and evidence. Thank you for your opinion. Nothing compares to profit. Responsibility hidden in statistics. Wearing those colours is against the rules, although that could be changed for the right price. -One Love- (conditions apply) We offer little to no rights. Gestures are performed, manufactured and easily sold as products of the machine. Spewing lie after lie after lie to force feed and wash away blood and guilt with words well chosen. (Spewing lie after lie after lie.)

Water renews all as it passes through, so take me back to the beginning. The sea is slowly falling from the sky again. We're connected towards the end by the code in our veins. You resemble and I remember something. A gentle touch given by another crimson tree; ”Drown me thorough, dear beautiful, unreal manifestation.” I'm washed along muddy shores where all traces of you are already lost, though somehow still repeated in me. With the breath of the sea and the rythm of wind and wave through all of my bodies. Piled and reborn, wasted but loved. Flowers and rot and Flowers. Before we have another go, please hold my hand for a moment. The giants are still asleep so sharpen your spear.

about

Maridia came together in the midst of the pandemic of 2020, but it's seeds were sown several years earlier between Chris (guitarist) and his sibling Alex (vocalist). Both grew up with a common interest in heavy music, playing separately in several bands and projects over the years, but never together. During the summer of 2020, Jonatan was recruited on bass and Patrik on drums. They completed their lineup in February 2022 when Adrian became their second guitarist.

With the help from sound engineer William Blackmon (Gadget), Maridia came together for a week of intense but very creative studio sessions in late November 2022 at The Overlook Studio in Gävle, Sweden. Their debut album "Mouth of Ruin" was recorded, and subsequently released digitally on May 19, 2023.

Defining themselves as post-hardcore. Maridia draws heavily on it's members diverse preferences and experiences. Band members have previously played a wide range of genres, from post-rock and black metal to crust/d-beat and deathcore. The band aims to avoid limiting themselves to locked genres and instead hopes to create something unique and fresh by blending their scattered influences in a very crowded metal scene.

The band name is taken from a dark and unforgiving underwater location in the old platform game called Super Metroid (1994).
